Picture Perfect!

costa-rica-sunset.jpg√√

Sunny or Rainy?

Costa Rica is a rather tropical country, and it lays between 8-11 degrees above the equator. It basically only has two weather seasons, which are dry, generally between December and April, and from then on, for the rest of the year, it is particularly wet and "green", but there is still about 5 hours of sunlight.
It isn't dry for so long in the Caribbean coast, and is very green almost all year because it is so humid. The weather sometimes can be a little bit oppressive, too.
The Central Mountains Region is a little more mild, and the weather is like spring, like in San Jose!

Costa Rica---Geography

Costa Rica is 51,100 square kilometers, or 19,730 square miles.
Think of how big Vermont and New Hampshire are combined, and that's about how big Costa Rica is!
The capital is San Jose, the terrian is rugged. The climate is mild in the central highlands,  and tropical in coastal areas.
 It's also a bit swampy.
I remember when I went there we went on a cruise down a swampy river, and there lots of monkeys, and they would climb down onto our boat when we put bananas on the bow.
There were also lots of shrimp when we went fishing!
There were also HUGE Iguanas, that were like three feet long!!!!
